Lunch Series: Listening in Discipleship
New disciplemakers often report feeling a pressure to know the right thing to say -- but often, the right thing to do is to listen more attentively rather than offer a solution ourselves. Lynne Ruhl is a much-requested expert and speaker in this area and we are so excited to learn from the best!

"To answer before listening, that is folly and shame." - Proverbs 18:13
It is hard to think of a more important skill in discipleship than listening. Active listening helps us understand what our disciples think and feel, and enables to move into their lives with understanding, warmth, empathy, and respect. In a 1-2 punch, listening skills help us to be more effective disciplemakers while simultaneously relieving us of the pressure to know the right thing to say.
Lynne Ruhl, retired corporate culture consultant, has a wealth of knowledge and is an excellent presenter. Having taught these skills for decades to people both in ministry and in the professional world, her firm grasp on the imporance of listening has benefited many. We are so honored to have her join us! Due to distance limitations, Lynne will join us live over zoom.
The Discipleship Network meets the third Thursday of the month for inspiration, equipping, and community for everyday disciplemakers. A catered lunch is provided free of charge, but we do ask that you RSVP. Feel free to invite anyone you think may benefit.
