Discipling Through Sickness and Suffering (CDN x THCC)
When a major illness or tragedy hits a person's life, it can be hard to know how to respond; standard disciplemaking training and curriculum do not always equip us well to meet the moment. Our friends at Take Heart Cancer Community are well suited to help us navigate this important topic.

Has someone in your life been hit with a major negative life event? Chronic sickness and/or suffering disrupt and disorient our lives - and also have a way of showing us what we really believe about God. As the Church, it is crucial that we have a deep understanding of suffering and know how to walk with others as they navigate their reality, thoughts, prayers, emotions and most importantly their relationship with Jesus.
Take Heart Cancer Community exists to support those who have been impacted by cancer whether they are the patient, spouse, caregiver, or friend. We believe that it is in times of sickness and suffering that we have an opportunity to see Jesus more clearly for who he is and can help others experience real hope in him. In this training, we'll talk about why sickness and suffering matter to Jesus, how to walk with others in the midst of suffering, and how we can disciple folks through their beliefs about God.
Speakers:
Ashley Chickerella, Executive Director THCC
Joel Wharton, MA - Care Pastor at Heritage Christian Church and Vice Chair/Spiritual Director at THCC
