[CDN] Traits of Effective Disciplemaking Communities

Some Christian communities are highly effective at making replicating disciples; the vast majority are not. What are the traits that separate these effective groups from the rest? Nate Harrison, in national leadership with Navigators Church Ministries, will lend us his insights.

"Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. Therefore I do not run like someone running aimlessly; I do not fight like a boxer beating the air." - 1 Corinthians 9:24-26

The fruit seen by one group or church isn't usually able to be boiled down into quanitifiable pieces, a formula that can be reproduced. God's Spirit doesn't operate that way. While we can never guarantee success or engineer fruit, we can learn from skilled gardeners who are able to maintain a healthy harvest year after year. And by studying multiple skilled gardeners and seeing what they have in common, we can often increase our own yield.

Nate Harrison wears many hats for Navigators Church Ministries (both locally and nationally!) and has a lot of insight and wisdom in this area. He will walk us through the traits he has seen help Christian communities be faithful and effecitve in making disciples time and again. This talk promises to have lots of practical takeaways! Bring a friend from your community and join us.

PLEASE NOTE: We'll meet at the Polaris COHATCH for the 2024-2025 season.

Columbus Discipleship Network meets the third Thursday of the month (second Tuesday in Nov & Dec) for inspiration, equipping, and community for everyday disciplemakers. A catered lunch is provided free of charge, but we do ask that you RSVP. Feel free to invite anyone you think may benefit.
