[CDN] Discipleship in the Marketplace

Discipleship in faith-based settings can feel pretty straightforward. But what about discipleship in the secular workplace? Sam Koon has been effectively taking biblical principles of intentional spiritual mentoring into the marketplace for years. Join us to glean his wisdom!

May 15, 2025, 11:45 AM – 12:45 PM

Event Details

“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.”

- Ephesians 2:10

There's no getting around it: most everyday Christians are going to spend the majority of their waking hours at work. Those with whom we work closely will often get to know us pretty well, for better or worse. How can we be effective at Christ's command to make disciples of all nations as we go out into the marketplace? And how can we even sensitively and effectively use our time there for God's Kingdom? Discipleship training given in a faith-based context can sometimes overlook the nuanced reality this requires.

Sam Koon has been a faithful and effective marketplace disciplemaker for decades. Founder & President of Samuel D. Koon & Associates, Ltd., he also has expertly facilitated several Prime Movers groups (intensive discipleship cohorts developed by Chip Ingram)  in Central Ohio, and was pivotal in influencing his congregation toward intentional disciplemaking as well. We are honored to learn from this powerful and effective lay leader!

PLEASE NOTE: We'll meet at the Polaris COHATCH for the 2024-2025 season.

Columbus Discipleship Network meets the third Thursday of the month (second Tuesday in Nov & Dec) for inspiration, equipping, and community for everyday disciplemakers. A catered lunch is provided free of charge, but we do ask that you RSVP. Feel free to invite anyone you think may benefit.
